Membership

Like dogs? Want a place to train your dog? Please participate with us in training, fun and competition! All of our club activities are accomplished by club members who volunteer their time, talents, and labor. Club activities include teaching classes, or assisting, helping at the clubs Obedience and Agility trials, or taking charge and helping with Club activities that require effort and coordination. Please watch our Club's monthly newsletter People and Paws, to learn how you can help.
Is membership right for you? Do you like to pitch in and help, be part of a group? Do you have a little extra time to spend helping your club, and are you willing to spend the time? If "yes" is your answer, then you likely will enjoy being a member. First, though, you need to take a class, attend the meetings, and decide for yourself. We also welcome people who simply want to pay for and take classes at their own pace.
In exchange for club privileges, members are expected to help with club activities. To become a member the following steps in sequence are required:
1. Pay for and successfully attend our Puppy or Basic class at the prevailing non-member rate,
2. At the conclusion of your Puppy or Basic class, submit a membership application complete with dues pro-rated through May of the following year.
When you submit your membership application, we will inform you of the number of months of Dues that are required,
3. Attend at least two of the General Membership meetings in the three months following the submittal of your membership application.
4. At your second General Membership meeting, be approved as a member by the other members.
Our General Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of each month at the Ogden City Airport, 3909 Airport Road, Ogden at 7PM. The public is also welcome. Watch the Club newsletter, People & Paws for changes to the club meeting time or location.
The Club offers three categories of membership:
- Individual, dues are $35 a year and entitle the member to participate in as many training classes as they wish during the year and to vote on Club issues.
- Family, dues are $40 a year, and entitle members residing in the same residence to participate in as many training classes as they wish during the year and to vote on Club issues.
- Associate, dues are $10 a year, and members are NOT eligible for training benefits or voting, but may attend the general meetings and receive the Club newsletter. This category is designed for the individual or family who because of health, family, or relocation reasons wants to retain their membership while unable to participate in club activities.
